Navaratri ’09

Navaratri is Gujju’s festival of Gujarat. Navaratri ’09 was started on 19th sep to 27th sep. Here in Gujarat, Navratri is the festival of Mataji. We have nine days Garba Mahotsav at many places. Every city has different style to play garba. On this festival we place Mataji’s murti at the place and play Garba. Tenth day is called Dashera.

In Gujarat, Garba is organised by clubs, society, trust etc. at decided places. In Ahmedabad, there is a trend to go to Club and play Garba in group with different type of actions. Some people also do only disco on music.

In Vadodara, two most popular garba is organised.

1. Maa Shakti

            Maa Shakti has registered its name in the Limca Book of Records for the largest garba gathering, dancing in totally traditional dresses. “Achal Mehta’s Rishabh group sings garba.

2. United Way of Baroda

          Atul Purohit And His Group sings in United Way of Bardoa. United Way of Baroda Garba is the Most Entertaining and Best Garba In the world. Singer Mr. Atul Purohit and company is too good.
